Music Education Segment – Improvisation on Handbells? Yes you can!
This segment is geared mainly for Music Ed. Teachers or those in churches who want to extend musical learning.
- Simple Rules for successful Improvisation:
- Give the students a framework in which to improvise
- Give the students LESS to work with. The fewer choices they have, the more successful they will be
- be willing to let your student fail. Improvisation is all about exploring
- Use “elemental” ideas (these are the basic building blocks of rhythm and melody)
